Ruins
Every me that’s leapt into the sun They left me here, to find what I become My temple falling through my hands But I let it go, because I finally understand Betrayal takes me to the end Repaying life, I repay and then I’m dead Sweet fruits that decorate my mind Then bitterness, I have one taste and then life dies Sandcastles placed along the shore The tide has come, and I have to save them all Temptation in an ashen breeze Release the fire, and then just spread the seeds My head still crawls beyond the doors My sanity, my reason is barely still recalled My fear still shackles up my pain But the demon smiles, knowing it’s driving me insane Can’t reason with the things I know Just let me sleep, either way I turn to stone Can’t pray for whatever I become I am just here, wherever I can come undone Everything that’s led me to these eyes Well my strength has grown, but now I cannot cry My temple ruined in the dirt But I let it go, for me, because I realise it can’t hurt
