The Last Patriot
THE LAST PATRIOT "Let all the ends thou aimest at, by thy country, Thy God, and Truths. Shakespeare The bugler played Taps, Shoes glistened in the sun. Uniforms worn with pride, To honor the last one. Washington, Jefferson, Adams and more, A new republic for all. Their lives, family and fortune, Risked so we would not fall. A call to arms dear patriot, A nation to defend. Many would die for freedom, They fought to the end. We were torn asunder, Our roots pulled apart. The North and South in battle, Tore at our country's heart. The leaders from one land, Called to calm the world. We sent our finest, Victory certain when our flag unfurled. The greatest inventions known to man, Came from the USA. We shared with our friends, To bring a better day. An election changed things, A leader for himself. Destroyed al we love, Denied a chance for wealth. Foreigners tell us what to do, Control our daily life. We buried the last patriot, We now live in fear and strife. RAYMOND V.
