Poverty seals the children's fate when both their parents die of AIDS. Death is their only guardian, and what little hope they had, fades. Disease awaits in the shadows, yet, life carries on without pause. And hunger hurts even in sleep, where shriveled stomachs feel its claws. Love's a sister fetching water for her thirsty younger brother. For; that twelve-year-old starving girl is now his father and mother.
