Scraping His Song
I carved the god of her death into my mind I let his silence take me on She disappeared and I was left to define This thing that’s left just scrapes his songs Dark déjà vu became the love that I feel The light became my pain The flooding corners of my mind held the reels Whatever action I took drove me insane So I gathered up the grains of my life I found the place that I called home Just one more little place where I defined This seeing creature started all alone The nowhere where I found what I lost This place goes on and on A room where pointless circles learn to flaunt This pretty creature scrapes his songs I’ve built a lasting fortress in the sand The crushing waves have made it strong I stand so high in a world that has no land And this lonely creature still scrapes his songs
