Cancer
It runs you over like a freight train You hear it coming The horn blowing its ominous whistle But you never believe it Till it’s on you like a cheap suit Then it’s to late You go down and lay in-between the tracks Hoping and waiting That you will escape Meanwhile the dark grime of life passes over you It whistles by and hisses and let’s off steam While you lay there Helpless against the disease Not daring to move Not daring to breath Praying this time is the last time That train will pull into the station Never to pull out again You look around for parts and pieces Did it take anything with it? Am I whole? You pull yourself together and climb out Back to the “reality” of life Or is this just death on vacation? Nevertheless you are still alive No more trains No more tracks No more lights at the end of the tunnel
