Imagine That
The sky full of ashes, the air packed with dust All cars are abandoned and covered in rust A city, deserted, lifeless, and cold A story of war, these ruins have told There are some survivors, but only a few Lurking in shadows, they’re hiding from you You look like a monster, you’re covered in dirt You’ve a knife in your hand, and blood on your shirt You’ve spotted a child, he cowers in fear Eyes widen in horror, he bolts like a deer The memory of battle, still fresh in your mind Prevents the peace you are trying to find Tears run down your face, you’re starting to cry Despair takes over, you wish you could die You’re suddenly blinded by a heavenly light You close your eyes, it’s unbearably bright Your heart seems to lighten, you feel the relief As your fears are all stolen by a mysterious thief The light filled with kindness then fades away And you know you've survived another day
