No Pacts Between Lion and Man
The jungle covers Shiva temple the forest is dark and deep On the outskirts there is wreck of old ship Once upon a time many people would come to worship But now few are brave enough to make this trip But sometimes fire in the temple burns at night As tiger shows its fearsome form in moonlight As fire burns in temple’s insight Tiger’s eye reflects fire’s fury and light The fire that burns is supposed to make statement on worshiper’s soul But the light in tiger’s eye will only bring dread into the man’s soul But this is tiger’s role And if one looks closely into tigers’ eye it is sadness not mayhem that is in his soul For so few tigers are left in the wild Are there going to be any at adulthood of a child For creatures some killed for fur some because they are reviled Are despairing from last places to which they were exiled On a distant island Komodo dragon looks up at the moon It is time to hunt this late afternoon This majestic creature is the real dragon as he passes the sandy dune But he also might be gone quite soon
