We Were Roomates
We laughed until the sun came up on that first night His jokes were really awful but his manner was light I cooked him pancakes with banana eyes and syrup smile Thinking we would have laughter to take us through the miles We danced for hours and hours never missing a beat As our bodies glided in and out we turned up the heat Hot and passionate our love was destined to be We were unbearable to be around, he and me We traveled about the country and things were harried We finally settled down and got ourselves married The trials that came were many and the laughter went The union of us no longer felt heaven sent We moved several times to see if it would stick Get that thing that was annoying to all others- lovesick Several houses, several jobs and a dog and cat too One thing was for sure we were no longer stuck like glue The once hot lovers tried leaving it up to fate We were no more matched together than newspaper roommates With that being said we each went our separate way I never laugh near as hard as I did in those early days
