Emotions
I built a small house That seems strong to me It was only a small one But was enough for me The bricks where laid down Just one at a time And out of them grew Something that was mine I treasured it greatly Thought it was nice Hoped to expand it One brick at a time I felt safe there, and sheltered Away from the cold Even though it was small It was not old I thought when it grew Big enough for two We could share something Great, strong and true You then came along Larger than life You knocked down my house Did you even think twice? You told me you did it To then protect me Said that a storm cloud Might centre on me You thought that the storm Might bring my house down Crumble around me And bring me to harm I feel that my house Would have weathered the storm But Ill never know now Its gone and worn I wonder what you’d say If it happened to you Would you trust it again? Or think that you could I’ve picked up my bricks And loaded them here Put them all in a barrow The sort that has wheels Gonna find me a new place To built up my house And hope that it’s stronger So I can keep you out
