Inside
This life I see inside of me feels of a dream just out of reach; A dream I can almost remember but then it's washed away with bleach. I see myself through my eyes in a mirror starring back; This reflection of myself often tends to form a crack. Time holds me below the surface, I can see the light breach through; Inches from a new breath but reach is all I do. Like an ass I chase this carrot in hopes it'll taste good; But who knows when I'll get it, trudge along I guess I should... We chase we walk we run we follow, this dream, this image of tomorrow; This light, this carrot in hopes we swallow, to save us from the disease of sorrow. In bed I lay at the break of day tired from the fight; The fight of worried, wary, words as I talk to myself through the night. Red in eye sick at heart, unable to thwart this tort to start; But just a trick of a mind thought smart, for tomorrow these feelings so tart will part.
