Wayward
Until the storm surrenders, and your eyes meet the horizon that once swallowed us whole, my shadow will lay in wait within these cursed bones that rung our flesh dry; I can feel the rain’s temper soothing the ache of our ever restless whisper, and the lightning once trapped in lips that begged for thunder. But, I am wayward. Bound for shores lost to requiem, hoping that you’re still looking out, watching the sea, waiting for the tide to forgive me and accept this dreary vessel back unto the comfort of your shores. Pray for me, for the truest of winds, for steady mast, and posture, be my compass, so that I may stray from the Albatross that has burdened our love. I swear, I will kiss the sand at your feet; and our storm’s last strike will turn it to glass, so you can see the beauty I have longed for in the vast reflection of the ocean I hope, will not much longer.. be between us. -James Kelley 2014, All rights reserved
