I See You
I see you when you skin your knees, Each breaking dawn, pronouncing pleas. I see you when you burn that wax Each tiresome night, you don’t relax. When you lace your boots, I see you still You hit the pitch and keep it real. I see you on your eight to four, Doing your part, and sometimes more. We sweat, we toil, we do it all So out this darkness we may crawl. We cry, we weep, we endure shame, So we don’t leave the bastards that we came. More times than one though we may fail, As we progress through storm and hail, It matters not how oft we fall, What sure imports is standing tall. So forge on with hopes on high, And see success your woes decry. I see you all and dove my hat. We’ll see the light, and that’s a fact. We’ll meet with smiles to share the glow And share gold where ends the rainbow.
