The Dead Stare
She cried herself to sleep again last night But today she has to face it all once more The heartache and the pain is hitting once again As she heads out of her parents front door The trash talk starts once more today Just like it has for going on nigh three weeks She tries to push it away but it’s not working again today As tears again roll down her trembling cheeks The teachers seem to care not what’s going on Girls being girls is what they again say They don’t see the pain that driving her insane And probably wouldn’t care anyway Her parents found her dead in her room Wrists were cut and a note saying “so who cares?” Too late they realized what was happening in front of their eyes As the last thing they remember was her dead stare Will you help those who cry in vane? Or will you turn a deaf ear and hear no one? Will another have to die before anyone asks why? Just what in the world can be done? Ashes to ashes and dust to dust It’s the same thing every day for some It’s nobody’s fault, it’s nobody’s business It’s just the world again on the run Too many times and not enough knowledge As everyone’s too busy to even care But what would you do if you wore their shoes And you were the one with their dead stare?
