Somewhere On Golden Pond
It was a hot summers evening With a stringy haired blonde Out drinking Tequila on the rocks And fishing in Golden Pond Someone was playing a guitar Someone was singing a song Me and that stringy haired girl Was trying to sing along My Harley was my foot rest My head lay upon her breast She rocked me with that rhythm So peacefully I must confess Not much more of that evening Comes to mind anymore these days But I still think about that blonde And her wild loving ways Sometime during that night She quietly slipped away But she left me with a memory I still carry to this day Her hair was long and silky Her legs were bless my heart And everything else about her I wouldn’t know where to start My Harley no longer sits in the garage But that old hog used to rule the road But since that summer evening I’ve reaped the seeds I sowed Grey hair replaced the black Aches and pains rule the day And me, my Harley and Blondie All have gone a different way I heard Blondie was in Spokane And that Harley was up for sale But I’m too tired to fool with either one No more drawing water from that well Here’s a salute to that old cycle And a thank you to that stringy hair blonde And may we all rest in peace Somewhere out on Golden Pond
