Diamonds In Your Eyes
"There's a diamond in the sky, there's a distant falling star, And a diamond's remnants fly o'er the silent land afar. All the world is softly sleeping and I find you here alone, Tell me, child, why you're weeping, why you're out here on your own. "I see diamonds in your eyes slipping down a silver trace, And a diamond's remnants lie, making sparkles on your face; All these diamonds formed of sadness I will gently brush away, Hoping diamonds formed of gladness in your eyes will come to stay." "When the wind is sobbing by and it's crying in the night, When I hear its mournful sigh then I close my eyelids tight, For I hear the distant voices of my sister and my dad, And I think of all the places we have gone and times we had." "Little girl, I cannot say why it was that things were so, But whatever comes our way, I hope you will always know That I too am softly weeping, and my heart is torn in two; Come, if I'm awake or sleeping, I will love and comfort you." {Written by Isaiah Zerbst}
