A Dying Man's Plight To Live
Enter darkness, soothe my pain Make me feel alive again Any words to harsh to say Make this vessel, pave my way Burning fire, stew my bones Just anything to steer my goals Align this weary and confused soul Define that future, review my role Young apprentice, bleed me dry Pump adrenaline into these dry eyes Flay my body, roast my thighs Bake my innards. I want to come alive I crave your static, excite my mind. Renew my senses choke my lifeline In these last few years I have but lived a lie I want to see again, though I’m destined to die My days are few, my breathings in vain. I’d rather live an hour than be a trade or a slave. While men do slumber, I stare awake Reliving regret as I waste away The shoes men wear, leave no cast Unless you see the present, there is folly in past Live no boundaries, why not take a chance? I’ll take this brief journey until my last.
