Valentine
Valentine By Kevin Robey October 26, 2013 With all the misery we defined You’ll never be my valentine Cynical to say that’s all it could be But your heart set sail into the sea Scrambled signals above our heads Pulling old sweaters by the thread Leave me here; alone and cold Repeating every day till I’m old With flawed technique, my outlook is weak I'm sick of everything seeming so bleak I shouldn't be alone with thoughts like these Slowly killing me any time they please The worst part now, it’s back to me again With nowhere to turn where do I begin? Resorting to lies that worked for me before Still, nothing is making sense anymore I promise I’m okay, the skies were blue today My eyes won’t ever stray or fade away to grey Like they did before it’s odd I missed the score Turning black and red despite the smile I wore If you ever asked, "would I choose again?" I'd answer yes; you saved my life my friend Love is worth the price, no matter the amount In the end it's only memories that really count
