Chips and Strips
Blushing deeply, I lean in for the hug. Aware of that familiar warmth. Your confident smile brushed with a bit of mischief leaves me spluttering. Room filled with weary eyes. But that often glance from your direction, kept breaking my string of thought. Leaving me with ones, that could never be bought. 'Where are we going?' The constant question that hung in the air. 'The next lane' The answer that made no sense. One of the many familiar streets greeted our tasteless humor. The questioning glances left us jumping back into our awaiting chariot. Sprawled on the side of the road, Sitting like anybody but a lady. The passers-by gave us more then just a second look. Without even a glance back, You gave me your hand. You led the way as you always do. Making me feel twice as secure. 'We'll buy one and split it' Your usual words. Squeezing into the booth, You don't let any bit of distance come between us. Trusting my instinct, You let me pick our prey again. 'Don't finish the honey mustard' Just as you clean of the last bit of it. Ring Ring! Suddenly back to reality. Have to get back to my tower before I turn myself into a pumpkin. Helping me into my chariot. You disappear from my view, Taking my fantasy along with you.
