Free Cee Barkeep Reap Another Round For Those Roses
BARKEEP REAP ANOTHER ROUND FOR THOSE ROSES Came then the snow When winter made its way to woe Came then the cold And beckoned beauty my eyes would behold With a lapse of loneliness was I by bemusement bequeathed Bemused by a lady accused of granting far too much grace With more than a tincture of temptation And hair woven of libation and lace Came she to me to say to me how wondrous winter can be As windswept flakes of snow bounced upon and blessed the ground While I soaked in her soothing seraph sigh and a sanctified sound And each time she’d blink the snow would turn pink While the roses required a requisite drink The garden was jealous of the palette the lady did portend Colors crammed with the kind of credulity chrysanthemums contend But buds bow and become belittled by the wind And wilted by weariness Nature seemed reluctant to rescind Held hostage by the threat of what might be hurled down from the scurrilous sky above Held hostage as she holds hostage now my love Came then the frigid weather With love no longer a tender tether Only snow below fallen from on high And me to watch those drunken roses die © 2012 copyright PHREEPOETREE…..~free cee!~
