Hookey
Ever pretend you were not feeling well Just to take a day off from school? You say your tummy has very bad pains You think you have everyone fooled? Well listen to me young whipper snappers You didn't invent this old ploy Kids have been doing it for dozens of years Mothers know, no matter how coy Best thing to do is play by the rules It will surely pay off in the end You'll grow up and make a ton of money Get married and have lots of friends I've even tried it myself once or twice I've never been so nervous and scared I vowed I would never try it again You'll feel yucky my friend, be prepared The moral I guess is pretty darn obvious Be honest and true to the end If you play the game fairly and by the rules You'll wind up a winner my friend! ©Jack Ellison 2012
