Keep Singing Solomon
I tried to write a poem the way that Solomon wrote about his prize, But you don’t seem to fit the mold you don’t have a pair of flighty eyes. And evidently he liked the fact and it seems that it raised his hopes, When he would sniff her hair and it smelled just like mountain goats. And I think that your dental hygiene is something you should keep, Evidently his girl’s teeth were fuzzy and reminded him of sheep. I really don’t mean to bring him down by making these funny quips, But I would have to truly say there’s nothing threadlike about your lips. And apparently his girl’s temples looked like a pomegranate slice, When I look at you, your face is fruit free and I think that’s very nice. Your neck does a fantastic job and I could nuzzle it by the hour, But I can’t say that there is anything about it that reminds me of a tower. And when my eyes wander lower than your neck to see your special features, There’s nothing about them that vaguely reminds me of any woodland creatures. So I don’t know if my ability is hindered by my talents or by your good looks, But I’d sure like to see a picture of his girl; I bet she’d be one for the books.
