A Rose Like No Other
On a secluded hillside, The wildflowers bloom, A special garden tucked away, Basking in the sweetness of life. In the center blossoms a strange flower, The only rose among the field, Deep red and smelling so good, Different than all the others. Storm clouds come and go, Bright sunlight reappears, And fire sprouts from the soil below, The rose is completely engulfed. The caressing flames subside, But the flower still stands, Now more magnificent than ever, Seeming to burn from within. Glistening like a million rubies, Petals like silk to the touch, Here grows the gift of perfection, All who see its beauty are breathless, But humans wish to perfect perfection... A match is lit to again set fire to the rose, The flames turn into an inferno, Reaching astounding pure white light. When the fire recedes a second time, The perfect rose quivers.. and falls to ash, Perfection cant survive in this world, With us destroying the things we have been given, Hoping to perfect perfection...
