The Weight Issue
There is a weight I need, To get off my chest, I’ve come a long way, Since each new day, Of anguished rage, With a turn of the page, I’ll bring you back to times, When I let my mind, Unwind; And I lost myself along the way, Well I’ve had a rebirth, A morphing moment, Into that of strength, And will, It’s transforming, Heart-warming, And I hold the glimmer, Of the galaxy in my palm, Relaxing with tracks on, I have come to be, The roots of the tree, Rather than a withering leaf, Accomplishments are pride, In a night where cold rain, Turns to translucent ice, I’m feeling…nice; And it’s about time, To step again, Forward motion, Every notion, Of victory visual, Every minute of labor, Has cause me to savor, Where I am, And how I ran, For a mile in ten, I’ll tell you that’s when, Success, Caressed, My taste buds, It tasted salty like the stream, From my brow, But damn, This is where I am, I mean 1:30, And not like the time, Ticking but I get it done, I mean 1:30 like weight, Off my body and mind.
