Masks
BAG OF TRICKS CONTEST I'm not who I appear to be. A mask is all you see on me. You think I'm happy as can be, but really I'm alone and unhappy. Every day you see an emotion, but your really seeing someone else. someone I wish to be like-someone who's put their worries on the shelf. Someone who's made very little mistakes, and doesn't need a mask up on their face. you, my friend, who can't read me, or see my emotions properly, can only see the mask I wear and not what's really inside of me. but yet i wonder, "what's in HER mind?" She looks so happy, though she's blind to see my emotions hidden behind this painted- happy mask of mine. But what I'll soon come to see, is that she's not really happy. Just putting on a face for me, as I am and vice versa-you see? But is everyone putting on a show so others that know them don't really know the pain and hardship of their lives? I don't know, I have too much inside of me, there's a lot of pain, witch no one really sees. No one really know about me, but yet i know them either. So next time, I'll stop and think, is her life as good as I think? Patrick Smith
