When Hope Shines Out
When hope shines out from a blue canopy, there's something magical about the day! My soul is filled with sweet felicity when hope shines out from a blue canopy. The world seems brighter. Look about; you’ll see the birds and bees and butterflies at play! When hope shines out from a blue canopy, there's something magical about the day! A sapphire sheet becomes the sky at night as magic of this happy day extends. A canopy adorned with flecks of light - a sapphire sheet becomes the sky at night. Bright stars: I wish I may, I wish I might have all my dreams come true before night ends! A sapphire sheet becomes the sky at night as magic of this happy day extends. HM for a contest at Soup back in 2011 Now used May 4, 2019 for Richard Lamoureux's the 'Honourable Mentions worth mentioning. ' Poetry Contest Background story: As I looked through my HM's to find one to enter in this contest, I found several that I felt were some of my best poems; however, they had won a placement at least in one other contest here at Soup, so I wanted to find a poem I really liked that had never placed with anything other than HM. Of all my HM's that were re-entered in other contests, this one stood out to me. It got not only an HM, but also two NA's. I believe the other contests I entered it in were standard contests not asking for new poems. I had worked hard to make each stanza bright and uplifting to fit the original theme of "hope." None of the contests it had been entered into required strict rules about form, etc., so I have felt puzzled as to why it has not fared better. I will let you, Richard, be the judge if it is worthy of recognition better than HM or NA from you.
