Close Enough To Know
Some people find the path to where they need to go. Some people ask the question, and the answers always no. Their place in line is at the end to go and see the show. They never seem to make it in, they're just close enough to know. The knots just seem to slip right through their hands upon the rope. They're hanging on with all they're might and every ounce of hope. They spend every dime they've got to try and understand. They practice every note they know, but never join the band. The simple pleasures of the world, for them are never known. They plant their seeds to feed their souls, but nothings ever grown. You ask yourself just what it is that keeps them at arms length. Is it that their hearts are broken and their spirits have lost strength? I think that maybe that is true, their mourning never stops. They try to find what they have lost, but the bubble, it just pops. The grave is calling out their name from hope that they have lost. They see the goal they want to reach, but can't afford the cost.
