My Golden Prince
Perched upon a bed of sand The oceans fury rushes in Flippant sea foam at my feet A misty breeze embraces my skin Tonight I dream of unknown love And cast my wishes one by one Carried out by rolling waves Then captured by the setting sun While gazing at the fading stars I whisper a nightly prayer Please bring me a loving companion With whom my life i’ll share I am searching for an honest heart Possessed by a gentle soul Kind, loyal and sincere Someone to make me whole He should be both strong and brave Yet able to express emotion He’ll love me through all my faults And give me total devotion I hope that I’ve not asked too much And that you’ll consider my request And with that said, I close my eyes For some much needed rest Feeling the warmth of the breaking sun I awoke with a pleasant surprise Looking down upon me Were a pair of emerald eyes He was all I ever hoped for And so I called him Prince On that day two souls united He’s been with me ever since So when it comes to granted wishes I tell you, I am a true believer Cause when I asked for a loving companion God sent me a golden retriever
