Last Ride To the Vets
Many times we have taken this trip, you just loved riding in the car, it was your joy every time, never seen a dog so happy, as you were. You touched my heart in so many way, as few dogs ever did. You were my best friend and pal, you know that don't you, if i even need to ask. You were such a pleasure, I'm so proud to be your owner and friend, you warmed my heart, more than once. I never had to scold you for anything you were so well behaved at the vet, as you were elsewhere. Now today we are taking our last ride to the vets and the tears are blinding me. The hurt is more than any one should bare, hearts are broken when moments like this happen. Knowing I'm doing right thing, does not help, someone needs to tell my heart. Spending time with you, remembering many happy days we had together, is now about to end. A little quite time with you looking at your most beautiful eyes and those ears, so pointed, such a wonderful friend you have been to me. As the vet comes in to do what must be done, I hug you saying how much I love you and not wanting to let go, but knowing I must. Hearing your breathing slowing down and life leaving your beautiful precious body, I shed one more tear. Spending a little more time with you, saying one more last goodbye, knowing you can't hear me. I leave the vets and go home, knowing you won't be there, the hurt starts all over again, knowing this house will never be the same again. wrote 4-4-11 Remembering the last time that Murphy and i went to the vets. after doing it many times and always taking him again. I had him put to sleep March 3, 2010
