Mother
Under her heart she carried me loving me before I was born. God's hand she held as she walked daily so I might live. Each day after my birth she cared for me, bathed and clothed me when I could not. Warm milk from her body she gave to me, rocked me to sleep holding me close, sang to me with a voice like an angel, held my hand as I started to walk, took care of me when I was sick, cried tears when I felt pain, laughed at my joy, glowed at my triumphs, taught me to pray and thank God for each day. All the days of my youth she me her strength to make up for my weakness, she gave me hope when I thought there wasn't any, she was my loyal friend when I thought I had none, prayed for me every day of my life, loved me when I thought I was unlovable, stood by me no matter what happened. I could give my life today but the debt can never be paid for the love my mother gave to me.
