But as I've struggled along life's long and treacherous trek, Instead of a chubby chicken leg, I usually end up with the neck! "Sir, would you mind giving up your seat on this flight?" I watched the plane's tail disappear into the darkening night! At the yield sign a guy and I met with some indecision. I hesitated to let him through - I had a rear-end collision! My palate quivered for that last chocolate in the box, But the other feller snatched it - me he did outfox! I held the door for the mob just before the market closed. The manager slammed the door in my face leaving me exposed! I should've jumped the buffet line for that last piece of steak. Alas, I had to settle for liver and onions - another gratuitous mistake! Even in the service at times when I meekly hung aroun', I was volunteered for guard duty while other guys went to town! I reckon it ain't hurt me none to try to be somewhat meek. The Good Lord said something about turning the other cheek! However, I've placed my hope in the Lord if things go from bad to worst. He said something about, "The first shall be last and last shall be first!" Robert L. Hinshaw, CMSgt, USAF © All Rights Reserved
