The Calm
(Yesterday) With quiet stillness we're snug and warm, your head on my chest and my arms wrapped around you during this brief calm we've been allowed to experience. O how we want it to last forever as we feel so complete together, but, God only gives us moments of this calm at a time, just enough to keep us going and make us want to come right back for more. Sometimes it seems like punishment waiting for this slice of heaven, to feel the most perfect calm and peace I know with someone. In your arms I am at peace. As I show you love, you show me love with all our love coming from God. (Today) Thirty hours later and the calm of bedtime is here, but, it's so different this calm of one. It's quiet to be sure and mysterious because I don't know how you are, I can't see your beautiful face or touch your smoothness or hear the sounds you make. All these things I'm missing so very much now as I hit the light and night really becomes night and I sigh and cry then start waiting and worrying. (Tomorrow) O what exquisite torture my mind inflicts on my heart of which you are a very large part, but, soon a calm will return as I pray and tomorrow I'll learn that you are okay, then we'll both go through another day and think back to the calm we shared just the other day.
