A Pretty Ring
Some may say it's just a ring, and won't believe me, when i say it came from a king. It's super shiny and made of gold, and very valuable, so I've been told. I wear it a lot, almost every day, I don't want to lose it, no how, no way. It is the greatest thing I own, Where it really came from is unknown. Another story i like to tell, is that I found it at the bottom of a well. I was looking down in the deep, dark hole, I heard someone behind me; it was just my friend Cole. We both looked down in the endless black, all of a sudden i felt a great whack. Cole had hit me square in the back, and then i fell into pitch black. I was falling, and I fell fast, I took a deep breath, for I thought it was my last. Then i hit the bottom and made a loud thud, I was sure I was covered in layers of mud. From the corner of my eye I saw something shine, I had never seen anything so fine. It was a ring, the prettiest I've seen, I was sure it was made for a beautiful queen. Cole threw me a rope and helped me out, then he asked why i didn't shout. "I hit the bottom, and it hurt so bad, I wish i had landed on a soft, cushioned pad. The next thing I saw was a beautiful sight, it distracted me so much that i forgot about the flight. Then I looked up and you threw me a rope, it was hard to climb up, for there was no slope. You helped me out of that big, black hole, and so I thank you, my good friend, Cole. But now it is time to go home and rest, and lay down in my bed, my cozy nest". We said goodbye and then we split, I went home and cleaned up a bit. When I was done i went to my room, and swept the floor with my big broom. I finished cleaning and found a nice spot, for hiding the ring, I liked it a lot. Now it is hidden in a great big mess, but the next time I clean, it will be less. I'm not quite sure where the ring went, but I'll find it again, with my time well spent. This is a poem about a ring, That I found in the well, in the middle of spring. .
