How I Lied
To care for her I surely tried But now I know just how I lied Told her that she never leave here So she needed not have any fear I would be there until the end But to be that strong I could just pretend Still I gave it all I had Now in tears I am nothing but sad Trying to remember all that was good Then wondering if I did all I could When she dies we're all to blame Some couldn't handle life that wasn't the same One thing I can completely see She'd have never done this to me So as on the past we now reflect The memories are clouded by my neglect Not mistreated while she was here What's happening now isn't clear Will they treat in way I feel is right Will they have ice cream with her each night Then the waffle and stories she loves so much Is there anything there that they'll really touch Having to surrender no matter how hard I tried But now it's really about How I Lied!
