To You, Mr Apolinar
Sir, I been hearing good things about you; You're in the public gaze for being so true, Loyal to your people and to the community; Are you running for an office, for nation's security? Indeed, I learned many things about you, thru my friends; They're proud of you, 'cos of the love you showered them; Are you a Pastor? Because every sermon You render, they believe Even, my own sister was impressed When she met you At the park, where I used to play; You sang her a song in a falsetto; Are you a Singer? Forgive me, If I asked I'm not trying to be rude; it's not my attitude; The accolades they bestowed on you, Attracted my curiosity that made me spend the night On a hill, alone, where its stillness I felt As the winter colds breezed into my skin, While gazing at the stars; Just to catch a glimpse of you, Mr. Apolinar I failed, 'cos you were not there And never been there; That's why, I'm coming home Despite, decades of not being around But, I am sure I can find you in the town, For it is your own blood, Father That runs through my vein; Though, you never show me Your true self, your love nor to be concern, Still, I will always love you!
