The Grey
Grey is that color that scares me most, the middle ground, the place where anything happens. No black or white to fall back on, just grey; endless grey. Grey is where succeeding in one area, inspires applause from some- and malice from others. Where in every step someone helps you- and someone hurts you. That is Grey and on the days- where the sky turns grey, I expect the worst to happen. Grey is where success for one, hurts another, grey is where your hurt. It is in the grey that you pray for fate's mercy as the unexpected becomes expected- and the worst becomes reality. There is no safety in the grey. Grey is smoke, and the smoke screen blinds us to the light, until we're lying in our blood, cursing the grey. That is the grey, the personification of this world- and it's endless collection of random evils.
