Vivid Dreams
She woke-up knotted up in her bed sheets, gripping her pillow. Glistening droplets of sweat danced down the side of her face. Sitting upright, she begged for the memories to just be a show. Dream or reality, her recollection seemed such a real place. Running to her phone, her computer, anything she could reach. Desperate to prove the nights events had all been make believe. The atmosphere sucked all moisture out of her body like a leech. Some would see her dramatic reaction as immature or naive. Yet something aweful had played with her mind that dark night. It made her doubt her thoughts and question innocent dreams. Such a vivid illusion that it wound her cool, calm body up tight. The complexity of which was so baffling it burst her minds seams. Treasured thoughts of one simple night snapped in a split second. While the flashbacks of dark twisted figures flooded her mind. The screeching and screaming faces that surrounded her beckoned. Nothing she tried would stop the play, the film would not rewind.
