"waking Up In Pain"
I lay on this surface with my eyes closed tight.. My body feels frozen but outside my eyes it's bright.. I can't move my legs and my arms are so cold.. A blanket up to my neck which I'm not able to unfold.. Beeping sounds all around my head, faint voices but I can't hear what's said.. Every part of me feels restrained, but where I am is closed and well contained.. My eyes start to flicker as this scene opens a little clearer.. My Mom and Dad standing over me with dried tears once filled with fear.. I was in a car crash and broke my leg, and a line of stitches placed across head.. This hospital room will be my home for awhile, while pain sets in as my tears hit the floor tiles.. A year of therapy to learn to walk, and some scars which cause much talk.. Now years have passed since my car hit that pole, which I pass every day but now it's only a story to be told... For "The Edge" contest
