The Lightning Bolt From Hell
Lightning, seemingly from hell rained down on us one summer eve. We expected to hear the death bell toll as fire and brimstone we perceive. We were scattered about the house not accustomed to cringing at nature The lightning popped constantly close Reducing us minute by minute in stature. When suddenly there was a crash A loud boom and thunder roared As a ball of electrified fire zoomed through the screen porch and door. It had hit the transformer pole outside, Slid down the guy wire to the ground hopped and skipped across green tide before entering the house with sound Sizzling, through the living room and hall through the double wide door of dinette making a hole the size of a basketball by the kitchen door was as far as it could get. The acrid smell was most too much to bear. Left by the lightning bolt straight from hell As it awarded destruction without want of care. To give me a bit of nature, I remember well. © Jun 21 2010 For John's "Fear" contest
