Unfair.
She raised her hand to her mouth, and the phone crashed to the floor. Her hands shook as she grabbed her keys and headed for the door. On the open road she panicked. How could this be real? She pondered so many questions, while behind the wheel. She pulled up beside the scene, just a few blocks from her home. Her jaw dropped as she scanned the area, He was lying there all alone. She sat down beside him, placed his head upon her lap. She looked up to the heavens, as if looking at a map. Blood trickled from his forehead, his eyes vacant, no longer bold. His body lie in her arms, lifeless and so cold. The police, they came to tell her, it was time to leave. But all she could do was watch his chest, wishing he would breathe. She was informed of the cause, of this horrific act. Her son had been driving under the influence, this was a known fact. After all the speeches she had given, “Call a cab, or stay over night” or, “I’ll pick you up anytime” None of this seemed to be quite right. His sister left without a brother, His father without a son. Please take a good hard look, At what drinking & driving has done.
