An adagio of sprinklers carries the tone, Mixed with the mowers cutting the lawns. Children laughing and playing abroad, As the ice cream truck drives in the distance. The traffic alone moves the day, To the melody of repose in the sun. The dogs wail at the ice cream truck, As the fire engines rush by. Crowds cheer for passionate events, Hosted daily down at the park. As airplanes pass over the fields, While the wind rustles the leaves. And the stream gurgles its song, Accompanied by the choir of crickets. Ending a summer day.
