Sestina For Jared
Simon denial and grief weighed heavy on your heart. Your friend and leader was captured, all seems lost. The ruler you sought was now to be executed at the place of the skull. Was I so far off, to not see his humanity? Yet his power is diety. Darkness and quaking for three long hours; I shook to my bones. Fear has taken my confidence; I am a worthless shell without my savior. My thoughts are downcast; what is this end of my Savior? My spirit believed in his great power and strength, breaking heart. Take the life from my body and bones. Forever separated, longing and lost. Savior, my friend don't forsake me; My diety. Thoughts, worries and fears rattle around my skull. Weak and deserted in spirit and body. Thoughts penetrate my thick skull. Walking alone a stranger appears, inquiring of my disposition; could it be my savior? My savior lives!! His is not lost!! Precious diety!! He is not lost!! Rejoice, Rejoice!! Praise God, He lives!! Jesus my Heart!! Thanksgiving and praise from the marrow in my bones!! Dry Bones!! Reviving skull!! No more lost!! Eternal Savior!! Beating heart! Praise the Trinity and Diety!! Praise my Jesus, Diety!! Quicken my life giving bones Relieve this heavy heart Lift this heavy skull To praise my Jesus, Savior!! Save the eternally lost!! Peter was not lost He knew forgiveness of the Savior He knew a blessed diety God revived dry bones Jesus can penetrate my thick skull and soften my hard Heart!! I am lost with despair in my bones Precious diety penetrate my thick skull Blessed Saviour, live in this welcoming heart!! My first attempt at a sestina poem!! For Jared's contest
