The Takeover
Watch me leave out that door Right Now. Just like a Memory. You think I Want this? Reassurance being handed out like candy. Hide me. I can't watch as this Takeover Happens right in front of Us. Water pours from The tightly wound hose. Front yard full of water And the dust falls. The takeover. Spin around. Look. Spin around. Nobody understands. Am I the only one with Tears? I run as the buildings Crumble right in front of Us. A phone rings And No One Answers. Maybe it's all in my head. I cannot breathe. Until I met You. What did you say? The Takeover. So You See Too. Thin as Paper. We Agree, We need to save these people. Why don't they realize? What's happening? I don't understand . Confusion around every curve, And the wind whips. So hard. It hurts. You think We Want this? Reassurance being handed out like candy. But at least I have You Now. I can feel your heat. I See You Now. I Think It'll Be Alright. We'll Survive At Least. You Still Want To Save Them. But You Need To Understand. They Don't Even Know It's Happening.
