Soaring the Edge
There’s a hole in his head - acid flowing from it - mouth hangs wide open - eyes glazed milk - I forget it’s dead - I have to remember it can’t breath again. Why won’t this work? - Soaring the edge - I just want you to stay forever love slave - Stay love slave. No pillow for his head - Lips purple blue dry - skin so cold - I forget it’s dead - I have to dismember - it can’t breath again. Why won’t this work? - Soaring the edge - I just want you to stay forever love slave… Stay love slave. Why won’t this work? - Soaring the edge - Soaring the edge - Soaring the edge - Soaring the edge. **The lyrics are a kind of documentary from the first person perspective of the serial killer, and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer …a guy who tried to make love zombie companions out of young men, by drilling holes in their heads and pouring various household chemicals in. He kept finding himself disillusioned when they’d die instead of loving him. It’s not meant to glorify, but to ponder just how far over the edge it's possible to go… and he makes a rather decent example of this.**
