No artist could e'er blend oils to match The Creator's skill, Nor with their most exquisite viruosity my languid soul fill! To glimpse Pikes Peak embraced by the sun's crimson glows, Can ne'er be portrayed in prose a mere poet could compose. The sun sinking behind Mount Pelee on the Isle of Martinique, Proffering a panorama of that volcanic peak so very unique! I can think of nothing more soothing to the soul than sipping tea, Watching a splendid sunset enfolding snow-capped Mount Fuji! Or sipping effervescent wine overlooking magnificent Naples Bay, Gazing upon Mount Vesuvius reposing in Sol's last rays across the way! At eventide among the soaring Alps looking on from a quaint chalet, As the sun casts colorful hues on snowy peaks at the close of day! E'en the world's most renowned artist could ne'er portray The beauty of the Grand Canyon and the sun as they interplay! Ah! To savor the gloaming in the balmy Isles of Hawaii, As the sinking, scarlet sun meets the shimmering sea! I'll e'er laud that e'er-changing canvas in the western sky, Painted for our delight by the Master Artist from on high! Entry for Silent One's "Sunrise and Sunset" Contest
