I certainly did not expect the warm welcome I received. I immediately felt accepted as a fellow poet by the members through their comments. I was encouraged to join by Andrea Dietrich who assured me I would like it here. She was right and I am grateful that she introduced me to this magical place where the expression of poetry is so honored. This poem became featured that same month, to my delight, and I met many new friends through their comments because of that. I also entered this poem in a contest and was given an honorable mention. It took me a while to learn to navigate this site and learn the rules of entering contests and how everything works, but soon I was comfortable here and welcoming others.
