Then suddenly, the world stood still, as innocence met fear, and countless hearts were shattered by a day we still hold dear. But darkness never tells the whole story, for through the smoke and pain, came heroes running toward the danger, while others searched for strength again. Firefighters, police, and first responders, who answered duty’s call, ordinary people doing extraordinary things, standing courageously for all. We remember those whose lives were taken, the mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, the friends, the coworkers, the strangers— each life precious, every one. We remember those who never came home, and those who waited by the door. We remember the empty chairs, and the hearts forever changed by war. But we also remember something stronger: the hands that reached to help, the strangers who became a family, the nation that refused to lose itself. Twenty-five years may pass, but remembrance has no end. Their names live within our hearts, their stories we continue to defend. So today we pause in silence, with gratitude, love, and grace, and promise those we lost that day their memory will never be erased. We remember. We honor. We stand together. And we will never forget. By Shawn Muñoz
