Those Times I Remember Back When
Those Times I Remember Back When There’s something to be said of those days gone by and those times I remember back when the streets were filled with Holiday cheer and God’s wish of peace to all men. I remember the distant days of my youth and the snow covered streets of my town, of carolers singing their songs of the Truth and of those who as they listened stood round. The street light posts were decorated in season and store fronts looked like Christmas time. Yet, I never forgot that Jesus was the reason for the true peace that many still find. But every year and always without fail we would go to that place by the waterfalls. A nativity scene close by the train rails was so breathtaking it drew one and all. And another place just up outside of town held such excitement for all us kids each year. It was as if the North Pole we had found and I could feel that Christmas was drawing near. Just a few pages from past memories and our Christmas times shared with mom and dad. Even singing carols in church on Christmas Eve; one more reminder of the good times we had. Douglas L.
