I Am Gay
I was only young when I knew I was gay I had been married twice but it didn’t go away I didn’t get the chance until I got to this stage I had to wait until I’d reached this ripe old age I had the feelings but nothing could be I was married with children then you see A lot has happened in my life its true But how would you have felt if it had been you? I know in the early days I would have been gay But circumstances happened to get in the way I had a baby when young, so that was that I had made my bed and had to lay in that It didn’t work out my first marriage its true He used to knock me about till I was black and blue My children I am proud of I love them all so After ten years I let my first husband go I met another man he was really good to me It restored my faith in men if that could be He was my salvation but sadly he died I then grieved for him that I could not hide I cried and grieved for a very long while I carried on my life and forced a smile I dated a man but I should have seen I had to go back now to how it should have been I am in love and married to my gay spouse We live together in a lovely homely house In a lovely little village in the countryside I no longer have a secret that I have to hide
