Peace, Is It a Fools Dream?
The paper sits before The pen in my hand. What should I write? Should I tell a tale of madness The trails one goes through towards sanity? Or should I tell a tale of anguish. Nightmares the torture the soul. All of these things draw a picture the mind would rather forget. Images that shake you to the bone. Leave you sweating as the droplets slowly inch their way down your spine. Leaving a line of icy coldness that penetrates more than soaked sheets. Each drop a hope last, a dream shattered, a memory best erased. Waking up mid scream. Seeing the shadows creep ever closer Felling the air being slammed out of you. Heart beating like a hummingbird But more erratic. Wondering if it will ever even it's pace. Wondering if you will be the same after it does. Clutching for some form of sanity. Any spark of light. Trying to find your way through a black tunnel of doubt, fear and despair. Reaching ever further, only to find at the end of your grasp...... Nothing.
