My mum funeral
2026.06.02 Today is my mother's funeral. How sad, depressed and cruel. No crying, no tearing and no moaning. The guests must come between 4pm and 4:45pm A stone cold notice given last minutes. Now, the family members must inform all guests, Who wish to view the deceased rest in peace, Come early or forever miss it. Once the right moment to close the coffin's lid Not only it was last minutes notice, But also contradicting to other. Which stated "no movement and sound Between 4pm - 5:30pm or around. How ridiculous the instructions, How impossible and confusions. By the day before the funeral services, 20% of family members have been frustrated, Putting them through all sorts of religious beliefs, Without evidence but only some mist. I wrote three pieces of eulogies, English, and two other languages, My mother should be proud of them. I used simple everyday words and in form of poem. My tears rang as I wrote and read all of them. The entire ceremony conducted in a temple, Where it was the deceased second home. The praying lasts one and a half hour, Most of it was meant for the temple. Chanting and offering the prayers by the monks and members. This was done as everyone hoped The deceased would have a better life next life. No guarantee but at least, The family's friends and guests at her funeral ceremony, Could generate merits for her soul Everyone should have pure minre with compassion thoughts Then these would be greatly benefit to the deceased. As their acts would definite generate the merit. The more merit, the faster the soul could rise. One might witness every things of one own life, Except one important and final thing, That was one own funeral, Because there was no rehearsal. I strong believe my mother had seen And attended many funerals ceremonies in her life As she voluntarily helped in the temple. The deceased binded her life to the temple while still alive Then bind the children and grand-childrenn in her funeral. Mummy, Popo, Mama and Thai-po We all love you so much We listened and followed your last instructions. As I sat at the long table to have food between break, I suddenly felt unease and sorry for the deceased. She could never gather all her family members, To enjoy such a happy atmosphere, It only happened after lots of tears. Thank you Mummy I love you Mummy Goodbye Mummy.
